My name is Rachel Smalter Hall, and I’m a freelance writer, public librarian, and web content developer who authors a regular column about audiobooks for Book Riot.
I grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in a family of seven that donned bathrobes and towels for our yearly theatrical Christmas Pageant. When I was 14 years old, my parents sent me off to work in the cornfields and my mom packed a change of dry socks with my bag lunch every morning. Since then I’ve lived in Minnesota, Vermont, Rome, and now Lawrence, Kansas, where I write web content for a nearby library and drink PBR with my co-ed book club.
When my husband Aaron and I aren’t busy breaking up fights between our two black cats, I knit things, ride my bike, fold origami peacocks, and lip-sync classic hip hop lyrics.
Thanks for stopping by and looking around.
